27 Restaurant at the Freehand Miami #GabytheFoodie

Let’s talk about food! Welcome to another #gabythefoodie post… Yaaaas! I haven’t written one of these in a while!

The other day I went for brunch to the 27 Restaurant at the Freehand Miami and let me tell you: it was GOOD!

We went during the Food and Wine Festival so the menu was a little different but nonetheless, super delicious. The flavors were very mediterranean with an american touch, definitively not my typical brunch.

To drink I had the sangría which was delicious, but half through the cup I was already tipsy lol! Alex had some kind of iced coffee with alcohol but I’m not a fan of creamy alcohols so I just enjoyed my sangría. I think this is the first time I have brunch and alcohol together. I know mimosas are a thing for brunches but I’m happy with my café con leche.

El otro día fuimos al Restaurant 27 en el Freehand Miami y déjenme decirles: estaba buenísimo!

Fuimos durante el Food and Wine Festival así que el menú estaba un poco diferente pero sin lugar a dudas, súper rico. Los sabores eran una mezcla entre mediterráneos y americanos, definitivamente no mi brunch típico.

De beber pedí la sangría, estaba deliciosa, pero a mitad del vaso ya lo estaba sintiendo jajaja! Alex pidió un café frío con algún tipo de alcohol, como a mi no me gustan mucho el alcohol cremoso, este no lo disfrute tanto. Es primera vez que tomo alguna bebida alcohólica con mi brunch, se que las mimosas son típicas pero yo soy feliz con mi café con leche.

For food, we ordered the buttermilk biscuits with cheese and jam, the sweet and salty flavors together were incredible! We also had the crab bureaux which was like some kind of pastry with crab in the middle, two poeached eggs and a sauce that looked like hollandaise sauce (now I feel bad I didn’t ask) I’m not a fan of crab so I didn’t love it but Alex and Jocelyn really liked it!

De comer pedimos varias cositas, empezamos con los buttermilk biscuits con queso y mermelada, la combinación entre dulce y salado estaba de otro mundo! También pedimos el crab bureaux que básicamente es como un pastelito con cangrejo, dos huevos arriba y una salsa que parecía holandesa (ahora me siento mal que no pregunté cual era) Yo no soy fan del cangrejo así que no me encantó, pero a Alex y a Jocelyn les gustó mucho!

We also had the Moroccan Shakshuka, like the name says is, I had no idea what it was lol but for what I ate I can tell you it had two sausages and two eggs in a red sauce (we ordered some pita bread on the side to dip in the sauce) this one was really good but the sausages a little bit too spicy for my taste, so if you like a kick of spice in your food, this one is for you!

También pedimos el Moroccan Shakshuka que como el nombre lo dice, no tengo idea de que era, pero por lo que comí y medio vi, eran dos salchichas y dos huevos dentro de una salsa roja. Ordenamos pan de pita extra para juntarlo con la salsa roja. Este plato estaba delicioso aunque un poquito picante para mi gusto, así que si te gusta ese picor, este plato definitivamente es para ti!

I ordered the eggs with greek salad and labneh (which is like a greek yogurt) it was super delicious and fresh! Everyone at the table loved it, we also got the Lamb which came in two cinnamon sticks and over a pita bread I only had to bites of that one but I highly recommend it if you like lamb!

Ordené para mi los huevos revueltos con una ensalada griega y labneh (que es básicamente un yogurt griego) estaba muy rico y fresco, a todos en la mesa le encantó. También ordenamos el cordero que venía en dos palitos de canela y arriba de un pan de pita, uuff! Solo comí dos mordiscos pero fue suficiente para recomendárselos!

Finally, for dessert we had (well I stole it from Jocelyn) the banana bread french toast, just imagine a delicious banana bread covered in the french toast mixture, all warm with a little bit a butter on top, YUM! I accompanied it with a cup con cafe con leche – it was enough sangría for me by that time lol!

Finalmente, para el postre pedimos (bueno se lo robé a Jocelyn) las tostadas francesas de pastel de banana, imagínense si el pastel de banana ya es increíble, como será con la mezcla de tostada francesa, calentita con un poquito de mantequilla, YUM! Lo acompañe con una taza de café con leche porque ya había tenido suficiente de mi sangría a esa hora jajaja!
