Taking my Rothy’s around Miami!
It took me a while to fall in love with this city, mainly because I didn’t want to give it a chance! But that was young Gaby, present Gaby falls in love with Miami every single day! The people, the food, the music, everything in this city has its charm and to be honest, it feel much like my home Venezuela.
Today I’m sharing 3 spots I absolutely love in Miami while wearing my new pairs of Rothy’s shoes! These shoes are not only comfy and super cute, but what I truly loved about them is that they’re made from 100% post consumer plastic bottles – Until this day, the brand has repurpose 11 million water bottles, how crazy is that!!! (And I literally told this to at least 3 people who complimented my shoes, and like 10 more other people who I didn’t know but I thought they needed to know how cool my shoes actually are lol!)
Me tomó un tiempo enamorarme de esta ciudad, principalmente porque no quería darle la oportunidad! Pero esa era Gaby de joven, la Gaby del presente se enamora de Miami cada día más! La gente, la comida, la música, todo en esta ciudad tiene su encanto y para ser honesta, se siente mucho como mi Venezuela.
Hoy les voy a compartir tres lugares que adoro en Miami mientras uso mis nuevos zapatos de Rothy’s! Estos zapatos no son sólo cómodos y súper lindos, lo que más me encanta de ellos es que son 100% hechos con botellas de plástico. Hasta el día de hoy, la marca ha rehusado 11 millones de botellas de agua, qué locura!! Y sí, literalmente le dije esto a tres personas que me alagaron los zapatos, y como a otras 10 que ni idea de quienes eran, pero tenían que saber lo cool que son mis zapatos jajaja!
Alex loves this spot because sunsets are epic and he’s always taking pictures here, but I love it because I can let Ernie play free and run like crazy! This place has everything, you can go do yoga, flight a kite, en even do a picnic like we did! If you walk a little bit you can get to the pier and to South Pointe Beach.
A Alex le encanta este lugar para fotos ya que los atardeceres son épicos! Pero a mi me encanta porque puedo dejar a Ernie correr libre como un loco! Este lugar tiene de todo, puedes hacer yoga, volar un papagayo (cometa/papalote), y hasta hacer un picnic como nosotros! Si caminas unos minutos llegas al Pier y si te gusta la arena ahí mismo esta la playa de South Pointe.
Oh I lost the count of how many times I’ve walked around the streets of Wynwood! I actually worked right in there for three years so I know it pretty well! The fun happens in 2nd streets, there are restaurants, bars and beautiful wall art!
Where to eat:
This time I want to recommend you a place that just opened and if you’re Vegan you’re gonna love it! It’s called Love Life. It started as a yoga studio with a small restaurant and they expanded to a full restaurant. It also has a small cafe right next to it where I tried the Matcha Latte and it was delicious!
What to get: The arepas are my all time favorite! The pizzas are also delicious, and I’ve heard their vegan burgers are bomb!
Ya perdí la cuenta de cuantas veces he caminado por las calles de Wynwood! Yo trabajé tres años allí así que lo conozco muy bien! La diversión normalmente ocurre en la calle 2 (2nd Street) hay muchos restaurantes, bares y muchísimo arte!
Dónde comer:
En esta oportunidad les voy a recomendar un lugar que acaba de abrir, y si eres vegano lo vas a amar! Ojo, no tienes que ser vagando para gustarte este lugar, yo no lo soy y me encanta! Se llama Love Life. Empezó como un estudio de Yoga con un pequeño restaurante , pero la demanda por su comida fue tanta que decidieron abrir un restaurant. También tienen un café muy rico justo al lado donde pobre su Matcha Latte – 100% recomendado!
Qué pedir:
Sus arepas son mis favoritas! Las pizzas también soy muy muy ricas y sin eres fan de las hamburguesas, también tienes que probarla!
3. Pérez Art Museum Miami / Frost Museum
If you like modern and contemporary art you have to visit the PAMM. The museum has beautiful international art from the 20th and 21st centuries . The museum is also launching a new fund dedicated to Latinx and Latin American art and plan to become a leader in the field – as a Latina, this makes me so happy!
Where to Eat:
Right in front of the water you will find Verde, a beautifully decorated restaurant which you will want to go even if you don’t to the museum.
What to get: They have brunch on the weekends, get the Eggs Benedict! If you go during the week, the mac and cheese is scrumptious!
Next door you should also visit the Frost Science Museum, it has the most beautiful aquarium with sharks, turtles a so many cute fishes. It also has many fun science activation for the kids! So it doesn’t matter if you have kids or not, everyone would enjoy the museum!
Si te gusta el arte contemporáneo tienes que visitar el PAMM. El museo siempre tiene exhibiciones espectaculares de artistas internacionales!
Dónde comer:
Justo frente al mar encontrarás un restaurant llamado Verde, la decoración es bellísima y vas a querer ir aunque no vayas al museo ese día.
Qué pedir:
Tienen brunch los fines de semana, pide los huevos benedictinos! Y si vas durante la semana tienes que probar el mac and cheese, es delicioso!Justo al lado del PAMM encontrarás el Frost Science Museum, tiene un acuario espectacular lleno de tiburones, tortugas y muchísimos peces! También tiene muchas actividades de ciencia para los pequeños de la casa. Así que no importa si tienes hijo o no, todos disfrutarán el día en el museo!
